When needed, we utilize advanced laboratory testing to identify markers for chronic disease, adrenal stress/insufficiency, food sensitivities, heavy metal toxicity and nutritional deficiencies. Through the research of Dr. Adkins, the tests that we recommend form the basis of our anti-aging programs and help patients identify early warning signs of diseases and confirm clinical diagnoses based on health history and symptoms.
Toxins are present everywhere in our environment. The bottom line is that if you’re breathing, eating, drinking or bathing, you are being exposed to toxins. There is no way to live in this world and avoid them. Not only do we have to concern ourselves about the chemicals in our environment, we must also understand the impact of heavy metal exposure and its impact upon our health. The good news is that our bodies have a “built in” detoxification system. Phase I enzymes and minerals work to remove toxic material from the body, and Phase II is a powerful detoxifier called glutathione which sends chemicals through the liver and eventually the kidneys and the gastrointestinal tract. This “built in” detoxification system, however, was not created to deal with literally thousands of chemical assaults on our bodies. Fortunately, there are protocols of diet, supplements and chelating agents that are designed to help optimize our body’s ability to clear our bodies of toxic chemicals and heavy metals. Our detoxification protocol is designed to provide the necessary nutritional compounds and botanical extracts that are pivotal in the body’s natural abilities to neutralize and expel toxins.
It is broadly accepted by the medical and scientific communities that a number of hormones decline with aging, and that these declines can result in many of the symptoms and manifestations of aging. For women, menopause is the result of the precipitous decline in estrogen and progesterone production. For men, andropause is the result principally of a decline in testosterone levels. The other hormones that decline and are well-documented include growth hormone and the adrenal hormone DHEA. The decline in these hormones starts much earlier and is more gradual. Our bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is designed to counter these declines with therapeutic level of hormone replacement.
What are Bioidentical Hormones? Bioidentical hormones, also known as natural hormones, are substances that have the same chemical structure as the hormones that are produced by the human body, and they also create the same physiologic response. Hormones are NOT drugs. They are naturally occurring substances that are found in all humans since the time of conception. BHRT replaces hormones at a “physiologic” level that is not harmful to the body. Physiologic levels never exceed what the individual has already been accustomed to in his or her younger years.

Nutrition and Lifestyle Support: The Cellular Healing Diet
Our cellular healing diet accomplishes one major objective: healing and powering up the cells that make up your entire body by controlling inflammation and supporting your body’s adaptive stress response.
Our Body’s Adaptive Stress Response:
Each of us has access to a highly centralized biological system, regulated by our genes, that largely controls our susceptibility to disease and how rapidly we age. This system is the body’s genetic response to environmental stress, or adaptive stress response.
It is not the sort of stress that we try our best to escape but a more beneficial kind that triggers an adaptive stress response and forces the body to marshal its natural resources. These positive stressors—exercise, severe calorie restriction, and certain bioactive compounds in food, just to name a few—kick the body’s cellular maintenance functions into high gear, so our cells take care of themselves more efficiently and thoroughly than they would ordinarily. This also happens to be how they maintained themselves when we were young and at the peak of health.
This phenomenon, known as the adaptive stress response, is astonishingly precise and powerful. With cellular maintenance on overdrive, our bodies can continue to protect themselves from chronic inflammation which causes a vast assortment of serious illnesses, not to mention overall aging.
The Cellular Healing diet and Exercise Recommendation triggers your body’s adaptive stress response to work with your genes to reduce whole body inflammation and promote an anti-aging rejuvenation process through five simple diet & exercise principles.
We need an anti inflammatory diet and exercise approach because our genes were simply not designed for today’s diets & lifestyles. This dynamic is contributing to overweight and increases in whole body inflammation and associated increases in chronic inflammatory conditions including diabetes, arthritis, allergies and asthma and many others. The typical American eats a pro inflammatory diet that leads to increased inflammation, when what we really need is an anti inflammatory foods and exercise lifestyle.
The mismatch between today’s diets and our genes is causing us to miss important bioactive nutrients that were once present in foods to send important messages to our genes to keep us healthy and to prevent premature aging. Through five simple anti inflammatory foods & exercise principles, the Cellular Healing and Anti-Aging Diet puts those bioactives back in your diet, and triggers our bodies’ own adaptive stress response to promote healing, increase energy, reduce risk of inflammatory diseases, and live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
